Projects

Guna has had the privilege of working on major infrastructure projects across the United States over the past 20 years.  Below are a list of those projects.


Tappan Zee Bridge Project, Tarrytown, New York
Guna served as the Deputy Project Director on the $4 billion Tappan Zee Bridge Project, which is now known as the Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge.  Guna assisted the New York State Thruway Authority Project Director with procurement management and in developing Project Oversight Management protocols and procedures.

Presidio Parkway P3 Project, San Francisco, California
As the technical lead Guna was responsible for development of the technical specifications for this first of its kind $1 billion public private partnership in California.

Page-Olive Connector Project, St. Louis County, Missouri
Guna was responsible for the development of the performance specifications for the County’s first design build project.


Michigan DOT ARRA Program
Guna was responsible development of procurement strategy for two projects (Bike Path & ITS for McAnou Bridge) under the ARRA schedule.


DFW Connector Project, Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas
As the Principle-in-Charge for the $900+ Million design build project, Guna was responsible for guiding the PM and the design team in setup, execution and coordination.

I-15 NOW Expansion Project, Weber County, Utah
As project manager, Guna was responsible for preliminary design; development of procurement documents including selection of best value design build contractor and negotiations; public information; design and construction oversight of this 9.5 mile stretch of I-15 in Weber County.  Reconstruction includes roadway elements and 22 bridges.


I-15 North Corridor, Las Vegas, Nevada
Guna was responsible for development of geotechnical and pavement performance specifications including design criteria.  He is also actively involved with development of QA/QC criteria for the project.


Inter County Connector Project, Montgomery County, Maryland
Guna was responsible for coordinating development of Performance Specifications for this $ 1.5 Billion design build project. This project includes roadway, major interchanges, environmental issues, tolling elements and some unique challenges associated with coordination of four separate contracts.


Francisville Cable Stayed Bridge Project, St. Francisville, Louisiana
Guna was responsible for coordinating development of Performance Specifications for this $200 Million design build project. In addition to tradition roadway elements the project included 1400 feet long four lane Cable Stayed Bridge across the Mississippi river with approach structures.


US 189 Wildwood to Deer Creek Dam (Upper Provo Canyon Project), Utah County, Utah
As geotechnical field coordinator Guna was involved with coordination of field exploration, monitoring of instruments, design services during construction.


Legacy Parkway Project, Salt Lake and Davis Counties, Utah
As consultant project manager/design manager, Guna was responsible for the overall design of the project, which included 25 bridges and four interchanges within this 14-mile-long (22-kilometer-long), limited-access, four-lane divided parkway.  Additionally, for this project, he served as lead geotechnical/pavement design engineer.


I-15 Corridor Reconstruction Project, Salt Lake County, Utah
As consultant project manager, Guna was responsible for negotiating contract modifications and ensuring that the necessary expertise and resources are available for successful completion of tasks.


I-15 Corridor, Salt Lake City, Utah
As portland cement concrete pavement oversight manager for the 1999 paving season, Guna was responsible for overseeing approximately 12 lanes over 17 miles (27 kilometers) long of PCC paving on the project, including administering award fee program, processing invoice payments, and resolving NCRs.


I-15 Corridor, Salt Lake City, Utah
As technical support manager/engineering oversight administrator, Guna was responsible for coordinating all of the technical oversight provided on this complex $1.5 billion project.  He also provided lead oversight in the areas of pavement design, geotechnical design, and hazardous & harmful materials mitigation.  He was actively involved with the design management group.


State Route (SR) 91, Box Elder Canyon, Utah
As engineering manager, Guna was responsible for the evaluation of roadway cut, slope stability and development of rock fall mitigation plan.
